Noque Mennerick, beloved greeter and honorary therapy dog, made his final trek over the Rainbow Bridge today. 9 years was far too short for a dog so wonderful. We are heartbroken at having to say goodbye too soon after a neurological event that took his quality of life 10 days ago. We did the best we could for him. We know he was loved by many patients and will be sorely missed at the office and at home. The best hiking buddy, chewer of toys, and follower of the sun, we send him off to our family members on the other side with hopes that we'll be greeted by all the dogs we ever loved when we finally make that final trek too.

Honoring Dr. Erika Mennerick: 2025 Illinois Chiropractic Society President’s Award Recipient

One of the most memorable moments of the weekend was the presentation of the 2025 President’s Award to Dr. Erika Mennerick. This distinguished recognition, presented by ICS President Dr. Erin Strauch-Ducat, honors individuals who demonstrate exceptional service to the Society and the chiropractic profession in Illinois.

Dr. Mennerick has shown years of unwavering dedication to advancing chiropractic in Illinois. From her leadership in ICS governance to her mentorship of colleagues across the state, she has continually elevated our profession through service, insight, and advocacy. Her steady voice and commitment to ethics, education, and collaboration have made her a respected leader among peers and a valuable asset to ICS members statewide.

During the awards presentation, ICS leadership praised Dr. Mennerick’s tireless behind-the-scenes work and public-facing leadership. The audience responded with a well-earned standing ovation – a powerful reflection of the respect she has earned through decades of involvement.

It's just under a year until my license renewal, but I updated my CEU log today, and realized I've already completed more than the 150 hours we are required to have every 3 years! That won't stop me from continuing to take courses and add to my toolkit over the next 11.5 months! The most recent course I took was on infant craniosacral technique in July. Can't wait to get more babies in the office to further their care!

About once a week, Noque (pronounced “Noki”), the honorary therapy dog, comes to the office with me. He loves greeting everyone and gets all the ear and rump scratches he can while people wait for their appointment. Today, he saw one of his favorite patients who not only shared the treats she keeps in her purse, but she brought him a new toy, too!! Noque was so happy and spent the rest of the day showing off his new flying squirrel to everyone who visited. Thank you for making it an extra special day!
