Today was our Easter egg hunt, and what a wonderful turnout we had 🐣🌷
We loved seeing so many kids join in on the fun, and our residents truly enjoyed every moment watching their excitement. The laughter, smiles, and joy shared between generations made it such a special afternoon.

Lunch today came with a side of fresh air and sunshine ☀️
We took things outside and fried up some delicious crappie, with crispy okra, hush puppies, cheesy potatoes, and coleslaw. There’s just something about cooking outdoors that makes it all taste even better.
Good food, good company, and a beautiful day—doesn’t get much better than that.

Yesterday was all about creativity and a touch of springtime cheer 🌸
Our residents spent the morning making beautiful wreaths to decorate their doors, each one unique and full of personality. From bright florals to soft pastel touches, it was so special to see their creativity shine.
Moments like these aren’t just about crafts—they’re about expression, joy, and making our space feel even more like home 💛

This morning was another game of Uno, and our residents sure do love their Uno time.
There’s just something about a little friendly competition, laughter, and a deck of cards that brings everyone together 😊

Friday also brought a heated game of “Rob the Table” here at Rock Island Village! 😄🔥
Roll a 7 or 11 — which meant you could either grab a prize from the table or “rob” one from someone else! And just to keep things interesting, each item could be stolen up to three times… so it got pretty competitive.
There was lots of laughter, a little scheming, and plenty of fun had by all. These are the moments our residents love most! 🩵

I am late on posting, but we have been very busy at Rock Island Village Friday our local Huggs Homeschool group stopped in for a visit. They brought homemade gifts for our Residents.

Wednesday, our residents were treated to a sweet surprise with a visit from Show Me Ice Cream and their mascot, Ricky! 🍦
Ricky even showed off some fun tricks, bringing lots of laughs and smiles all around!
A huge thank you for the delicious ice cream and the wonderful visit—our residents truly enjoyed every minute of it!

Watching our memory care residents take part in refinishing a table has been nothing short of amazing. There’s something so special about seeing them reconnect with skills they’ve used their whole lives.

It’s incredible how hands that may seem unsteady become more confident with purpose behind them. The pride, the focus, and the joy in being involved truly shines through.

One resident even said, “This would be much easier with an electric sander.” 🤣

Moments like these remind us—there is still so much they can do. 💛
