Important Update for Our Families Regarding Childhood Vaccines
You may be seeing headlines about proposed changes to the federal childhood vaccine schedule. We want to provide clear and reassuring information about what this means for your family.
Here’s what you should know: At Associates in Pediatrics, we stand by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) vaccine recommendations, which strongly support the long-standing, comprehensive immunization schedule based on its proven effectiveness in preventing serious illness. The AAP continues to publish its own evidence-based schedule, including COVID-19 and annual flu vaccines, and encourages families to follow this guidance and discuss any questions with their pediatrician.
We remain committed to providing clear, transparent, and trustworthy guidance you can trust.
• Access has not changed. Families can still receive the full range of childhood vaccines recommended by pediatric and family medicine experts.
• These vaccines continue to be covered by private insurance, Medicaid, and the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program.
• The science has not changed. Extensive research continues to support the full childhood vaccine schedule as safe and effective.
• Illinois guidance has not changed. Our recommendations remain evidence-based and focused on protecting children, especially during periods of high flu and respiratory illness activity.
If you have questions or concerns about vaccines, you are always welcome to discuss them with your provider at your next visit or call to speak to one of our nurses.
