He is now the District 31 endorsed candidate for the Republican party for a House seat. He has also previously served on the Foundation board.
“It is the only hospital in that region and we have to keep it going and I think I can add to that process and some of the facilitation,” he says.

INTRODUCING THE
JACOBSON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION DIRECTORS:
MEET Becca Koepplin, who has lived in Elgin since 2019 and has operated Sheep Creek Play since then. She and her husband, Doug, have two children, Owen and Liz. Doug is a physical education teacher and assistant football coach, and they farm and ranch as well. “When I was approached about it, I said I would be happy to give my talents on what I enjoy doing. Alongside of day care, I love event planning and doing fun things and I know it’s for a good cause, especially with our son, Owen. We really spent a lot of time in the hospital with him, so making sure the doors stay open is huge for our family,” she says.

INTRODUCING THE
JACOBSON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION DIRECTORS:
MEET Megan Maier, who lives outside of Elgin with her husband, Alan, and son, Lane. She has been with Elgin-New Leipzig Public School for 10 years, where she teaches junior high and high school science classes.
“I was recently asked to serve on the Foundation board, and I said yes because our hospital truly matters to this community. Having access to care close to home – especially in emergencies – is incredibly important, and the hospital also provides jobs for many local families. Those jobs have brought new families into our community and into our school, which is something that matters deeply to me as a teacher. Given the financial challenges the hospital is currently facing, I feel it’s important to step up and help keep it here. If we were to lose it, the impact would go far beyond health care. It would affect our entire community, our school and our local economy. I’m committed to doing what I can to help ensure our hospital stays open and continues serving our community for years to come,” she says.
