Mark Anthony Aguina Obituary
10/31/2021
Mark Anthony Aguina of Elgin, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021 at the age of 58.

Mark was born February 17, 1963 in Chicago, IL to Andrea (Gonzalez) and David Aguina Jr.

What can we say about Mark? In a nutshell: He was a “diamond in the rough.” Because if you really got to know him you would see through that rough and tough appearance and see a heart of gold and a heart that loved God and those closest to him.

A friend pointed out that on the day of his mom’s funeral he clung to his Bible the entire night. It was symbolic of what was most important to him during that difficult time; God’s Word, Jesus.

Mark enjoyed all the best animated movies especially the Shrek films. Also, his life’s motto “all you gotta do is look for the Bare Necessities” sung by Boloo the Bear came from his childhood favorite “The Jungle Book” (1967).

Mark absolutely loved sports. He was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, a loyal Chicago Bears fan and a huge Chicago Bulls fan. He especially admired Walter Payton, Mike Singletary and Michael Jordan (who happens to have the same birthday as Mark, Feb. 17th 1963).

Mark especially enjoyed cookouts, potlucks and barbecues w/ his closest friends.
He was a hard worker and worked at many prominent companies in Elgin, IL.
This precious jolly soul who is deeply loved by our God will be missed by all who knew him well.

Mark is proceeded in death by his wife Donna Aguina, his beloved mother Andrea Aguina and his loving grandparents David and Mary Aguina, Sr.; Manual and Lupe Gonzalez.
He is survived by his father, David Aguina Jr., his oldest brother David Aguina III and his sister Daneen Marie Aguina, and younger brother Nicholas John Aguina, his nephews David Aguina IV, Nicholas Ezra Aguina and niece, Diana Danielle Aguina and great nephew, Aiden.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to O’Connor-Leetz Funeral Home, 364 Division Street in Elgin. Visitation will be Friday, November 5, at the funeral home, from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:30 am with burial immediately following at Dundee Township Cemetery East, 460 Dundee Ave., East Dundee.
