After each layer is removed, it’s immediately frozen in our on-site lab. Freezing preserves the tissue so it can be cut into ultra-thin sections and carefully placed onto slides. Once stained, your Mohs surgeon examines the tissue under the microscope, reviewing every edge for remaining cancer cells.

This real-time, meticulous process allows us to treat only where necessary — while preserving as much healthy skin as possible.
