That's a wrap! My heart is full. Another 9-week session of The Heart Sings just concluded, and the loving bonds of community that were formed among the participants is a thing of beauty. The personal growth I've witnessed is a testament to the power of song, community and spirit. To hold safe space, utilizing the power of song to open hearts, is a great honor. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for showing up from the fullness of your hearts. Thank you for your courage to SING.
One participant shared, "This experience has been transformative in a way that I didn't think was possible from singing with a group of strangers. I signed up for this hoping to find confidence in sharing my voice. And that's happened, and then some! I've found a community and a safe space to share in struggles both inner and outer. I've made friends, laughed, cried and unlocked a part of me that has been hiding out of fear of being seen. And I've gotten to practice that every week for the past ten weeks and I've been able to take it out into the world. I feel more whole, safe, and at peace because of this group. As I'm preparing for the next round of The Heart Sings and looking for songs our group will sing, I came across a performance that is pure love channeled through a human. Copious tears on my end. If you need to feel you are loved, give this a listen. It is magic. It is music in it's highest form - as healer.

Another 9 weeks of gathering together to sing, laugh, share, drum, dance, and be still. 10 hearts learning to be present, through song.

The time has flown by and tomorrow will be the last gathering of this round of The Heart Sings: A Course in Vocal and Inner Freedom. I don’t want it to end🥹

We sing not to rehearse for a performance, but for the pure joy of it! 😆The Heart Sings is a space to explore, express and accept your unique voice as it is now, through small group community singing. It is a space for everyone, not just singers! We have a blast singing our hearts out because we’ve done the work to get out of our heads and let go of thinking about how we sound to others!

If this sounds like your idea of a good time, the next 9 week round ( #3) will begin Monday November 17th at Four Bodies Community Wellness Center in Eliot, ME! I hope you’ll join us!

Dear Friends,

I wanted to reach out to share a difficulty and ask for your assistance.

Creating Sacred Sound Circles has been a dream come true. I can remember a friend asking me when I was 25 what I would do for a career if there were no limits. Without thinking I immediately said "sing prayers!" But back then, I didn't think that was possible. But now I know better. Prayer is anything done with pure intention and exquisite attention. And this the exact inner state I must be in with each circle. Not only am I enabled to show up with pure intention and exquisite attention while singing "prayers," but I've gotten to sing them with many of you. I've felt your hearts, and watched them open. I've seen you dance, cry, rest and release. And it's been an honor.

At the beginning of summer, participation in these circles, whether it was a Sacred Sound Circle, The Heart Sings, or Sound Healing + Reiki was flourishing! It felt like this endeavor had grown wings and was taking off, with me just trying to hold on for the ride! But then something mysterious shifted, and for the past few months participation in these healing circles has dwindled. I've taken various actions in an attempt to identify a cause. And I've come up empty-handed. Perhaps the drop in participation is a symptom of the mood in our country - a growing feeling of instability and uncertainty. Just when we need community and healing even more.

However. This downturn has pushed me to begin focusing more on bringing sound healing circles to non-profits and other organizations. And this is an exciting new possibility to grow! And while it's growing, I would love to continue to offer regular sound healing and singing circles to groups of individuals. To all of you! However, each circle takes a lot of care, energy, time and resources - not just from me, but also from the spaces that host, like Shilo Farm. For both of us to continue offering this, participation needs to grow. I also know that what I want is not always what is best. And so I am acquiescent to God's Will. But I will also do my best to continue offering regular sound healing circles, however I can.

If you, like me, would like to see these circles continue, I ask that you consider attending the next Sound Healing + Reiki Circle with me and Pam Benedetto at Shilo Farm on Sunday Nov 9 at 5pm (registration link in comments). Or invite a friend, or spread the word. Every bit helps.

Whatever happens, I am deeply grateful to each person who has shown up, sung, fallen asleep or cried. Healing is a deeply sacred thing to share. And it is an honor to be a part of that.
