Meet Mrs. Nakera C. Adkins….
Nakera C. Adkins was raised in Nassau, Bahamas, where her Christian faith and heart for service were nurtured from an early age. She completed her undergraduate studies at Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, and later continued her education at Barry University in Miami Lakes, Florida, where she earned a Master of Science degree in Special Education.
Guided by her faith in Jesus Christ, Nakera views her work as a calling to serve and support families during times of loss. She is committed to offering compassion, comfort, and encouragement rooted in God’s Word, holding fast to the promise found in “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). It is her prayerful desire to walk alongside families with grace, understanding, and love as they navigate seasons of grief.
A proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Nakera wholeheartedly embraces the belief that “Service to all mankind begins with one but extends throughout the community,” a principle that embodies the sorority’s core values. She is a dedicated, proactive, and compassionate servant-leader who understands that personal commitment is the foundation for meaningful and lasting societal change.
In her spare time, Nakera enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, exploring different cuisines, reading, and baking which are simple joys that reflect her gratitude for God’s blessings and the importance of fellowship.
