HCOTA provides oversight for the work of the established subcommittees; Action to Benefit Chronic Disease (ABCD) and Albemarle Fitness and Nutrition Council (AFNC). ABCD priorities include providing education and outreach on cardiovascualr disease, stroke, and diabetes. AFNC priorities include obesity prevention programs that focus on increasing physical activity and fruit and vegetable consumption for adults and adolescents.
