Peace of Mind 5280 is cooking up some serious HEAT for the Chili Cook Off!

On Saturday, September 13th, we’ll be at Running Creek Park for the 8th Annual First Responders Day, celebrating and honoring the amazing heroes who keep our community safe.

But let’s talk chili for a second…
This isn’t your average chili. Nope. We’re rolling in with our Vegetarian Green Chili... and it’s pretty darn spicy!

We didn’t just get some peppers at the grocery store. Oh no, we took a road trip down to Las Cruces, New Mexico, the chili capital itself, to pick up the real deal. We roasted them. We peeled them. We may or may not have cried a little in the process (okay, we definitely cried). But it was worth it.

Now, we’re bringing all that smoky, fiery goodness back to Elizabeth for YOU.

Pro tip: this chili is not for the faint of heat. Side effects may include:
Spontaneous sweating
Happy tears
A sudden urge to dance to the live music
Bragging rights that you survived the heat

🐎Tonight was the official kick-off party for the Elizabeth Stampede Rodeo, and what an incredible evening it was! As both a sponsor and Hospitality Vice Chair, Peace of Mind 5280 is proud to be part of such a time-honored and community-driven event.

This evening was a fantastic way for all the amazing volunteers to come together, connect, and enjoy some well-deserved fun before the big weekend kicks off. Summer is Here — and So Is More Availability for In-Person Therapy!

We’re excited to announce that with the summer season upon us, Peace of Mind 5280 has expanded in-person availability at our Elizabeth office to better serve our community.

~Cynthia has expanded in person availability for adults on Wednesdays, with new client openings as early as June 4th, 2025.

~Antoinette is available for in person children and adolescents sessions Monday through Friday, starting June 10th, 2025.

Whether you're seeking support for yourself or your child, we’re here to help.

🌟 Welcome, Antoinette Vigil, LPCC! 🌟

We’re proud to welcome Antoinette Vigil to our growing team at Peace of Mind 5280, Inc.! Starting June 10th, Antoinette will be seeing clients in person at our Elizabeth office, serving children and adolescents (ages 5 to 21).

Antoinette brings a wealth of experience from her work in school systems with children ages 5–21, and specializes in trauma-informed care. Her holistic, compassionate, and developmentally attuned approach supports children and families in understanding the deeper meaning behind behaviors, especially when words are hard to find.

“Children don’t often show their pain through talking… they show us through behavior.”
Antoinette’s therapeutic work is rooted in empathy, deep listening, and building meaningful partnerships for healing. Her approach incorporates:
-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
-Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
-Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
-Child-centered Play Therapy
-Mindfulness & Psychoeducation
-Goal setting, conflict resolution, and more

She holds a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health with a specialization in Trauma and Crisis and is licensed in both Colorado and Kansas.

Happy 2nd Birthday to our therapy dog in training and resident princess, Ginger!

Today we celebrated our sweet girl with a well-deserved puppy spa day with her favorite groomer, because every princess needs to be pampered! She strutted out looking even more fabulous (if that’s even possible) and enjoyed her favorite party treats with her sisters: juicy watermelon and bacon dog treats, of course.

Ginger brings so much joy and love to everyone she meets, and we couldn’t be more proud of the therapy dog she’s becoming. Here’s to many more tail wags, belly rubs, and lives touched by this special pup!

Happy Birthday, Ginger! You’re paws-itively perfect.
