Typewriters played a surprisingly important role in pharmacy history — especially before computers and electronic medical records became standard.
Many independent pharmacies kept a heavy manual typewriter on a back counter or in the office. The sound of keys and the “ding” of the carriage return was part of daily workflow — right alongside pill counting trays and mortar & pestle.

Larry is pictured with the spool filing system that was used to organize, store and retrieve prescription papers. A lot has changed over the years but our customer service has not.
