LIHEAP Fall Subsidy Heating Assistance Now Available

Kentucky households can apply for LIHEAP Fall Subsidy from Nov. 3 to Dec. 12, 2025, to help with heating costs during the colder months.

Eligible households with income up to 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines may qualify for a one-time benefit. This program covers heating costs for electric, natural gas, propane, coal, wood, or fuel oil. Benefits are paid directly to the energy vendor, and no disconnect notice or past-due bill is required to apply.

Assistance received during previous LIHEAP components does not affect eligibility. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Eligibility Requirements

Households must meet program eligibility criteria, including income requirements, to qualify for assistance. The Fall Subsidy program does not require a disconnect notice, past-due bill, or eviction notice to apply. Assistance received during previous LIHEAP components does not affect eligibility for the Fall Subsidy.

All applicants will be required to supply the following documentation at the time of application:

1. Proof of Social Security Number or Permanent Residence card (Green Card) for each member of the household.

2. Proof of all household’s (all members) income from the preceding month.

3. Most current electric bill, statement from your landlord if electric is included in your rent, statement from utility company if you participate in a Pre-Pay Electric Program.

4. The account number and name on the account for main heating fuel sources and electric bill.

Community Action Kentucky administers LIHEAP in partnership with the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, which receives funding as a pass-through block grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

We love that some of the global leaders in play therapy are quoted in this article. Play is essential, especially for children. The world is very stressful right now - increasing child directed play can be a powerful antidote.

Thanks to our amazing Administration,

We are so excited to launch PANTHERS PROVIDE a Pay It Forward initiative in being the village within the village!

Elizabethtown High School is launching Panthers Provide, a program dedicated to supporting EHS students in need. Through this initiative, we’ll collect food donations to ensure that every student has access to meals when they need them most.

We’re asking our sports teams, clubs, student body, and community members to join us by donating non-perishable food items. Items can be given to coaches, club sponsors, or the front office. Together, we’ll assemble bags for students to take home whenever they need extra support.

Items can be dropped off with coaches, club sponsors, the Youth Service Center or the front office.

Let’s come together as a Panther family to make a difference!

Examples of non-perishable items: applesauce, canned tuna or chicken, Pop-Tarts, GoGurts, Clorox wipes, baby wipes, graham crackers, animal crackers, peanut butter crackers, pudding, Jell-O, and peanut butter “to-go” snacks.
