As the Executive Director of Hope Within Ministries (Hope Within Community Health, Counseling and Dental Center). In that capacity, I would like to thank the family of Dr. Hall for remembering her service to Hope Within when considering options for memorial donations. I am so sorry for your great loss!
I first met Dr. Hall about 4-5 years ago while sharing about our free primary medical and dental clinic at her church, Trinity UMC, Hummelstown. Following the service, her husband John came up to me and "volunteered" his wife as a potential volunteer
practitioner at Hope Within. I went over and introduced myself to her and we had a good conversation about next steps etc. As a free primary medical and dental clinic for the uninsured, we are always thrilled to receive the services of a specialist. After completing the onboarding process etc, Dr. Hall began seeing patients at Hope Within on a frequent basis, mostly doing routine women's exams. But God in His infinite wisdom and timing knew that before long her OB skills would be put to good use. It wasn't long afterward that following the start of the war in Ukraine, many women and children were arriving from Ukraine to flee the violence. Many of those women were pregnant and were uninsured. Of course she could not deliver the babies, patients had to present to the ED having had excellent prenatal care instead of none. Even when she became ill herself and was hospitalized, or undergoing treatments or weak, she stayed in touch with me to remind me of certain tests or immunizations or results that should be ordered or followed up on and for which woman.
I can honestly say that i have never met a more stalwart person in my life. In spite of her many personal worries, she continued honoring her commitments. She sang in a community chorus as recently as Christmas-time, she attended board meetings and she never stopped writing, advocating, thinking or impacting policy that impacted the health of women.
On a personal level, we had deep conversations about medicine, family, policy, advocacy and endless random chats about things that were so important to her. She was brilliant and respected. I remember calling a local lab to get a result for a patient that she had ordered that had not arrived, when I mentioned Dr. Hall's name, they hopped to get the result instead of the usual vague "we will fax it to you".
I believe that she still had so much left to offer the world, but God knew the number of her days long before her birth. She fought hard to be healed and she suffered greatly but never complained. She is now fully and completelhy restored to perfect health and she stands in the presence of Jesus and is not bothered at all by earthly concerns.
I will miss Ginny, I already do. Yes, I am referring to her as Ginny, not due to disrespect for her achievements, accomplishments and professional standing, but because she was my friend.
I know that I am not alone in missing Dr. Hall.
