Yesterday at Bruceville Point, the room transformed into a whimsical, Mad Hatter inspired wonderland for our Drag Bingo fundraiser in support of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). With colorful decorations, playful touches, and even a few delightfully curious menu items (including rainbow spaghetti and drinks labeled “Drink Me”), the evening captured all the magic, silliness, and joyful chaos you might expect from a trip down the rabbit hole. Beneath the fun though, was a meaningful purpose: coming together as a community to support an organization that provides education, advocacy, and support for individuals and families affected by mental illness.

NAMI offers free programs, support groups, and resources that help people navigate mental health challenges while reminding them that they are never alone. Here in the Sacramento and Elk Grove area, NAMI works closely with local families, caregivers, and individuals to provide peer-led support groups, educational classes, and community outreach that promotes understanding, compassion, and access to care.

Of course, no Drag Bingo would be complete without an unforgettable host, and our fabulous queen Do Me Moore absolutely delivered. A drag queen is a performer who uses costume, makeup, and larger-than-life stage presence to create an entertaining character, often blending comedy, music, and audience interaction. Drag is an art form rooted in creativity, self-expression, and celebration: and Do Me Moore brought all of that and more, keeping the crowd laughing, cheering, and fully engaged throughout the event.

We are so grateful to everyone who joined us, played along, and helped support such an important cause. Events like this remind us how powerful community can be when we come together for fun, connection, and a shared purpose. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success - and to NAMI for the incredible work they continue to do in our community every single day. ❤️

Our Bruceville Point escape queens enjoyed an exciting adventure in downtown Sacramento at DOCO, where they successfully disarmed the Joker’s evil schemes in the Batman escape room at Escapology!!🦇🃏 After working together to solve clues and save the day, the group enjoyed lunch a few doors down at Polanco Cantina while taking in the beautiful spring weather and scenic downtown views. ✨🌷

Normally we’d bring you the perfectly curated, carefully edited version of our celebrations… but this Easter was simply moving too fast for that. 🐣💐

Instead, here’s the real thing: a little blurry, a little chaotic, and full of laughter. Between egg hunts, big smiles, and residents moving faster than our photographer could keep up with, the only thing we truly captured was how much fun everyone had.

Sometimes the best moments are the ones you can’t quite catch in time - and that’s exactly what made yesterday’s celebration egg-stra special. 💛

This playful challenge game uses quick mini tasks, friendly competition, and strategy to engage memory, focus, coordination, and decision-making. Activities like this are a wonderful way to support cognitive stimulation, strengthen executive functioning, and encourage meaningful social connection, helping residents stay mentally active while simply having fun together!!!

A little late, but worth the wait!! ☘️

Last Friday we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day our own way, starting with a “healthy pub crawl” full of mock mimosas, fresh-pressed juices, and kombucha shots (because balance is everything). We kept the spirit going with whiskey tasting, warm pretzels dipped in beer cheese, and potato skins loaded with bacon and cheddar!! We also simply had to do tattoos too 😉
