We had an amazing visit and presentation from Hawks, Honkers, and Hoots today! Back in December, we held a bake sale and raised about $800 for this wonderful non-profit organization. At that time, they shared with us a couple of bird ambassadors and promised to come back for a full presentation. Today was the day! Our visit from Hawks, Honks & Hoots was truly unforgettable—featuring an educational presentation with bird ambassadors. We got up close with these beautiful birds of pray. We learned so many interesting details about their attributes- many of which we hadn't heard of before. Did you know some of these birds have a talon grip of 400-1,000 lbs. per inch? 10-15 times stronger than a muscle man! We also learned insights on how we can help these kinds of birds in our area.

These birds have such big personalities! It was great to learn their back story and see their antics. We also enjoyed their Discovery table. Can you spot the birds hiding in the pictures? Which one is your favorite?

We can’t wait for them to return—such a wonderful way to learn about and support our local wildlife!

Meet Camila, our January Employee of the month. She started with WellQuest at a part time server and decided to pursue her career as a caregiver. "Her loving, compassionate spirt radiates throughout our community. She is a team player, dedicated employee and committed to always showing up with a smile."-Alondra Gonzalez: Wellness Director. National activity professionals week is held annually to honor professionals who provide therapeutic recreation and social engagement. It recognizes the critical person-centered care they provide to improve the quality of life for older adults and individuals with disabilities. Last week we recognized our amazing staff for all they do: Abby Johnson, Jennifer Luna, Jaime Mandrigues, Bee Vang and Rasheda Johnson. We love and appreciate you!

We "Gathered in Gratitude" at our special January dinner to celebrate and honor a dear friend to the community, Steve Reed. Even WellQuest president Dean was able to spend time with Steve and thanked him for his support and dedication. Steve was totally surprised as friends, residents and family came to thank him. Steve's dedication and selfless service to our Veterans is remarkable. He helps them with paperwork, and takes them to the VA hospital for appointments among other things. Steve is also is a volunteer for Honor Flight Bay Area and helps other VA organizations throughout the Sacramento area. The highlight of the night was when WellQuest presented Steve with a personized coin. Presenting coins to Veterans is a signature of his. The celebration was made extra special by having, Scout troop 584, American Legion Post 55, Honor Flight Bay Area.
