Success is Risky
The difference between those who succeed and those who do not is not found in ability or desire, it is found in their ability to take a risk.

In asking to embrace risk commonly people:
Wait until things are perfectly clear.
Wait for a perfect solution or guaranteed outcome.
Wait until they can afford it.
Wait for the right time.
What these people are really doing is waiting for things to get so bad they are forced to embrace risk. Big mistake. Ominous consequences. Don't make it.
Risk comes in five levels:
Financial. We could lose money.
Effectiveness. What we do might not work.
Physical. We could get hurt.
Social. What will people think?
Emotional. We feel guilty or irresponsible.
Truth: Success is not predictable or certain, it involves taking a risk. To embrace risk you must know exactly what your goals are and focus all of your time, energy, and effort on achieving them. Regardless of the problems you need to identify and solve and the challenges you need to face and overcome to do so!
Bottom line: To embrace risk you must square off with price vs. motive. If the price you are being asked to pay is greater than your motive you won't embrace risk. However, if the price you are being asked to pay is less than your motive you will embrace risk. Since you cannot reduce the price of success your only real option is to build your motive until the price becomes insignificant, or at least manageable.
