❤️ Love finds us when we least expect it.
At Riverview Landing, a Guardian Angels Senior Services community, Mary Gray and Wayne Reistad each arrived carrying deep loss—and discovered healing, hope, and each other.
Mary moved to our community after her husband Alec passed away. Adjusting wasn’t easy. She found quiet comfort on our walking path—a place to breathe, reflect, and heal.
Wayne came to Riverview Landing after a serious fall and a long recovery. He, too, had lost his spouse and was learning to navigate life in a new way.
Then, one day in the dining room, a simple cup of coffee changed everything. Conversations turned into balcony hellos, late-night chats, and a friendship that blossomed into something beautiful.
“I never thought I would ever have anyone else in my life,” Mary shares. “When you open yourself to someone else, God blesses the circumstance.”
“A second chance is the best thing in the world,” Wayne says. “I found a gal who is willing and able to do things together.”
Today, Mary and Wayne make it a point to welcome new residents—offering the same warmth that helped them find one another. Their story is a reminder that companionship can return, even after deep loss, and that community makes all the difference.
