During my painting class on Friday, I heard people make comments like "I wish mine turned out like that person's." Which led me to share a story of when I first started painting. I never had an intention to go be an artist - I just signed up for an art class with a friend 20ish years ago. The instructor didn't really teach anything, it was more like a drop in art space. So I picked up magazines and painted what I saw.

The instructor told me I had a good eye for color - but that's all they said. So I continued to copy others art styles. I wanted to be "like them".

However, in the last two or three years now, I've been listening to my heart and finding "my style." Painting has become transforming, creative, and enjoyable again.

I love teaching others during painting classes! But I always remind people that goal isn't to look just like mine - but the goal is to create one just like theirs.

What a wonderful weekend of creativity! On Friday evening, I had the pleasure of teaching 20+ artists how to paint a Christmas tree. There was laughter, community, and conversation.

Then on Saturday, Jennifer Narr Art (Create with Jen) set up our booth at the Elk River High School Craft Show. It was Inspirating to talk to other crafters and they were so open to letting me pick their brains on various opportunities for other shows. We also sold a lot of paint kits!!

I'm already looking forward to connecting and networking with the people at the next one in Hopkins on Nov 29th!

So freaking excited about the Giclee prints that arrived! I have six of the paintings on my website www.jennifernarr.com and I'm donating 25% of the proceeds to local food shelves in need between now and Dec 31st!
