It's Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Month! 🩶 Let's take a closer look at how Parkinson’s Disease is commonly managed and what other options may exist.

The traditional “gold standard” approach often relies on medications that increase or mimic dopamine. While these can help reduce symptoms, there are some important limitations:

➡️ They do not slow or stop disease progression
➡️ Higher doses are often needed over time
➡️ Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, and dry mouth
➡️ Increased doses can lead to dyskinesias (abnormal movements)
➡️ In some cases: confusion, hallucinations, or even psychosis

For many people, this approach focuses on symptom management, but doesn’t address the bigger picture.

Our Parkinson’s Disease Supportive Care Program is designed to:
✔ Help slow progression
✔ Reduce symptoms as naturally as possible
✔ Customized to each individual

Our approach focuses on supporting the body through targeted therapies, lifestyle strategies, and personalized care.

April is Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness and understanding of Parkinson’s Disease. 🌷

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive brain disorder that damages dopamine-producing neurons. Common symptoms include tremor, stiffness, slow movement and non-movement issues like depression or sleep issues.

According to the Parkinson's Foundation, here are 5 facts about Parkinson’s everyone should know:

1️⃣ Nearly 90,000 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with Parkinson’s each year.
2️⃣ Scientists believe a combination of environmental and genetic factors cause PD.
3️⃣ People with Parkinson’s experience both movement and non-movement related symptoms.
4️⃣ Symptoms can be managed through medications, lifestyle changes, exercise and in some cases, surgery.
5️⃣ Early-onset Parkinson’s disease occurs in people younger than 50 years of age.

At our clinic, we offer supportive care for patients with Parkinson’s with the goal of both slowing the progression of the disease and putting symptoms into remission as naturally as possible. Our approach focuses on supporting the body through targeted therapies, lifestyle strategies, and personalized care.

Here are 5 simple ways to support your gut health starting today:

✅ Slow down and chew your food
Digestion begins in the mouth. Eating too quickly puts stress on your digestive system and can contribute to bloating and discomfort.

✅ Prioritize protein and fiber
Protein supports tissue repair, and fiber feeds beneficial gut bacteria. Aim for a balanced plate instead of high-sugar, processed meals.

✅ Stay hydrated
Water helps move food through the digestive tract and supports regular bowel movements.

✅ Reduce added sugars and ultra-processed foods
Excess sugar can disrupt the balance of healthy gut bacteria and contribute to inflammation.

✅ Manage stress
Your gut and brain are directly connected. Chronic stress can slow digestion and increase gut irritation. Even 10 minutes of walking, prayer, breathwork, or stretching can help.

If you’re already doing these things and still struggling with bloating, fatigue, food sensitivities, or irregular digestion, it may be time to look deeper.

At MP Health & Schneider Clinic, we use targeted testing and structured programs to uncover the root cause, not just manage symptoms.

Your gut does more than digest food — it influences your energy, mood, immune system, and inflammation levels.

🚨 Signs Your Gut May Need Help:

• Bloating or excessive gas
• Irregular bowel movements (constipation or diarrhea)
• Brain fog or fatigue
• Food sensitivities
• Skin issues like acne or eczema
• Frequent illness
• Joint discomfort

Many people normalize these symptoms, but they’re often signals that your gut barrier and microbiome may be out of balance.

One common root issue? Leaky gut. When the intestinal lining becomes compromised, it can trigger inflammation throughout the body.

We break down leaky gut and healing tips in our blog:

Feeling tired, foggy, gaining weight, moody, or not sleeping well?

It may not be “just stress” or “just aging.”
It could be a hormone imbalance.

Unlike traditional Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), which uses synthetic hormones, our clinic offers Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT), which uses hormones that are molecularly identical to the ones your body naturally produces. Our BHRT program is customized to your specific lab results and carefully monitored for precision and safety.

Unlike traditional Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), which uses synthetic hormones, our clinic offers Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) which uses hormones that are molecularly identical to the ones your body naturally produces. Our BHRT program is customized to your specific lab results and carefully monitored for precision and safety.

When properly prescribed and monitored, BHRT may help:

• Increase energy and mental clarity
• Improve mood and emotional stability
• Support healthy metabolism and weight balance
• Enhance libido
• Promote deeper, more restorative sleep
• Support bone, heart, and brain health

This isn’t about masking symptoms. It’s about restoring balance.

If you’ve been wondering whether your hormones are impacting your health, schedule a consultation and find out if BHRT is right for you.

Hormonal imbalance is associated with:

– Bone density loss
– Cognitive decline
– Increased cardiovascular risk
– Anxiety and depression
– Poor sleep

Most standard labs won’t flag early shifts.

Our comprehensive Hormone Bloodwork Panel gives you a deeper look, helping identify risk patterns before they become diagnoses.

When a patient qualifies, we create a customized BHRT (Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy) plan designed to restore optimal levels and support long-term health.

Cold temps, dry indoor heat, less sunlight, and constant immune stress can leave you feeling:

👎 Constant fatigue
👎 Low energy despite sleeping more
👎 Brain fog or headaches
👎 Getting sick more often

Some of the biggest reasons? Nutrient depletion and dehydration.

One way we can help support your body through the winter is through IV therapy. By delivering hydration and nutrients directly into the bloodstream, IV therapy helps support:

✔ Energy
✔ Immune function
✔ Cellular hydration
✔ Overall wellness

If winter has you feeling “off,” it may be time to support your body from the inside out.

That “muscle knot” you keep rubbing?
It’s often more than just tight muscles.

Muscle knots are commonly trigger points - tight areas of muscle that stay contracted and can cause pain, stiffness, and even pain that travels to other parts of the body.

If stretching and massage only provide temporary relief, there may be a deeper muscular issue involved. After a thorough exam, our Nurse Practitioner may recommend customized trigger point injections to help relax tight muscles, improve circulation, and restore normal movement.
