👁️ Had LASIK? You Still Need Eye Exams.

LASIK can reduce or eliminate the need for glasses or contacts — and that’s amazing! 🙌

But here’s something many people don’t realize:

LASIK does not prevent eye health issues.

Even after LASIK, regular comprehensive eye exams are still important to monitor:
👀 Retinal health
👀 Eye pressure
👀 Early signs of glaucoma
👀 Changes related to high myopia

In fact, patients who were nearsighted (myopic) before LASIK may still have a higher lifetime risk for certain retinal conditions — even if they now see 20/20 without glasses.

Clear vision is wonderful.
Healthy eyes are essential.

👓 Vision Insurance vs. Medical Insurance — What’s the Difference?

We get this question all the time! While both help cover eye care, vision insurance and medical insurance are used for different reasons.

👁️ Vision insurance (like VSP or EyeMed) typically covers:

- Routine eye exams

- Glasses and contact lenses

- Preventive vision care

🩺 Medical insurance is usually used when:

- You’re being treated for an eye condition

- There’s an eye injury or infection

- You have eye-related medical diagnoses (like glaucoma, dry eye disease, or diabetes-related eye changes)

Sometimes, an eye exam may involve both, depending on why you’re being seen and what’s found during the exam.
