If you walk in and feel like you've landed in Hawaii... it's not the décor ? 🌴

It's the 27 fans and dehumidifiers running from the flood damage 🥵

So yes - we're wearing Hawaiian shirts and sunglasses today.

If we're going to sweat, we're at least committing to the theme 😎🌺

We may not be on a beach, but we're doing our best to make the best of it! Thank you for your continued patience while we recover from the water damage. We appreciate this community more than you know! ❤️

**We are closing at 5 today for pickups, and open tomorrow 9a-3p for glasses/contact lens pickup.

Thank you, everyone, for your understanding so far as we deal with the water damage!

Please be aware that the building is closed, but we are available until 5PM today (February 24th) for "curbside" dispenses if you need to pick up glasses/contacts or if you are in need of some emergency eyewear repair!

We experienced unexpected flooding in our office and will need to temporarily reschedule appointments while repairs are completed.

👁️ Had LASIK? You Still Need Eye Exams.

LASIK can reduce or eliminate the need for glasses or contacts — and that’s amazing! 🙌

But here’s something many people don’t realize:

LASIK does not prevent eye health issues.

Even after LASIK, regular comprehensive eye exams are still important to monitor:
👀 Retinal health
👀 Eye pressure
👀 Early signs of glaucoma
👀 Changes related to high myopia

In fact, patients who were nearsighted (myopic) before LASIK may still have a higher lifetime risk for certain retinal conditions — even if they now see 20/20 without glasses.

Clear vision is wonderful.
Healthy eyes are essential.

👓 Vision Insurance vs. Medical Insurance — What’s the Difference?

We get this question all the time! While both help cover eye care, vision insurance and medical insurance are used for different reasons.

👁️ Vision insurance (like VSP or EyeMed) typically covers:

- Routine eye exams

- Glasses and contact lenses

- Preventive vision care

🩺 Medical insurance is usually used when:

- You’re being treated for an eye condition

- There’s an eye injury or infection

- You have eye-related medical diagnoses (like glaucoma, dry eye disease, or diabetes-related eye changes)

Sometimes, an eye exam may involve both, depending on why you’re being seen and what’s found during the exam.
