🚨 SW KANSAS WINTER WEATHER & TRAVEL ADVISORY 🚨

KDOT crews are ready for the upcoming snow event, but heavy snow, winds and freezing temperatures can create hazardous road conditions. We STRONGLY encourage everyone to stay home and avoid travel!

What to expect:
• DELAYS in snow removal on highways
• High snow accumulation
• Extreme wind chill (Saturday highs near 0°)
• Roads may become hazardous again soon after plowing due to drifting
• Reduced visibility from blowing snow
• Salt treatments are less effective in extreme cold

Our crews will be working around the clock, but hazardous conditions could last for several days due to freezing temperatures.
