Collaborative care makes the difference! 👩‍⚕️

I'm so grateful to be a part of this patient's health and wellness journey with the other amazing women she mentioned. It truly does take a village to treat the whole person and get down to the root cause sometimes.

If your providers don't communicate or get answers from eachother, it's okay to switch, get second opinions, and find professionals who care and work together!

Have you ever felt great after an adjustment but the pain comes back a few days later?

You're not alone. There's usually a reason:
1. The underlying movement problem hasn't changed
2. Strength hasn't been rebuilt yet
3. Your body hasn't built load tolerance

At Motion Activated PT we focus on:
1. Restoring mobility
2. Rebuilding strength
3. Helping your body tolerate real-life activities again

Many patients actually benefit from both approaches working together.

Pain relief is step one.
Making it stay away is the real goal.

Did you know 🤔

R.I.C.E is out! 🚫

P.E.A.C.E & L.O.V.E is in! ☮️🤍

Research shows that ice and anti-inflammatories (like ibuprofen) early on after an injury can actually slow down the healing process.

Instead, gentle, structured movement to decrease inflammation and begin strengthening are what's best!

Are you recently injured and don't know what to do to help move along the recovery process?

Schedule a free consult today and let's get you started on a plan that's built for your success!

When I say I care about my patients, I really do! I enjoy hearing about what's going on in your life!

What's something that you tried and it didn't work?

This is probably the #1 complaint I hear all the time... "I stretch all the time and it still hurts. It's still tight"

Spoiler alert... it's probably not tight then, it's weak! When muscles appear tight, they're actually weak and they're having to work that much harder to do the task asked of them!

Eccentric training is amazing to help with this! Strengthening the muscle through the lengthened/opposite movement of what it normally does, in a slower fashion.

If you're someone who's spent countless hours stretching and it still hurts, schedule your free consultation and let's see if eccentric strengthening will work for you too!

ACL rehab is not just knee exercises. It is about restoring full body strength, coordination, and trust in movement.

If you're thinking about surgery, think about this first...

If you don't have the time to do physical therapy now, are you going to have time after surgery? Post-op rehab is usually 1-3x/wk for 6-12 weeks. Can you make that commitment to properly heal?

You muscles and nerves are being cut through, and you now have a foreign object in your body. Your muscles and nerves take weeks or months to heal. And your body has to now figure out this foreign object in you and hope to accept it.

Surgery isn't just a "quick fix". If PT is working but taking time, stay the course. If you feel like it's not working, have that conversation with your PT and see if you need to change directions.
