The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period is almost upon us. From October 15 - December, you can make changes to your Medicare Advantage plan or Medicare Prescription Drug plan for 2026. Watch your mailbox for the Annual Notice of Change from your current insurance carrier. This will describe the changes in premiums, deductibles, etc. for 2026. This is a VERY IMPORTANT document. DO NOT ASSUME your coverage will remain the same. There will be both positive and negative changes. We are here to help. Watch our post on October 1 for more information.

My opinion.....Not a good idea. Automatic enrollment with an opt-out. Think of it this way. You buy something online and you are then automatically in their database receiving emails everyday. Unless you've opted out at time of purchase, you have to change your settings not to receive emails. Some people don't ever do that and continue to get emails. Also watch out for the insurance companies getting behind this bill. Automatic revenue for them, cutting out marketing, advertising, and other expenses. Is it really best for the consumer?
