Elkin First United Methodist Church Preschool Christ-centered preschool serving babies through Pre-K in Elkin, NC. Faith development is central to our program.

Elkin First United Methodist Church Preschool is dedicated to fostering the growth and development of the whole child—physically, emotionally, socially, cognitively, and spiritually. Guided by our Christian mission, we provide a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace while being supported by highly trained, compassionate educators. Our developmental goals include:

Our daily activities reflect this belief through Bible stories, scripture memorization, songs of praise, prayers, and blessings. The loving example of Christian living—demonstrated by our staff—is an integral part of the curriculum. All teachers at EFUMC Preschool are trained in Early Childhood Education, CPR, and First Aid, ensuring both a high standard of care and quality instruction. Program Options
Three-Day Program (Tues.–Thurs., 9:00 am–1:00 pm)
• Infants – Threes: $205/month
• Kindergarten Readiness: $225/month

Four-Day Program (Mon.–Thurs., 9:00 am–1:00 pm)
• Toddlers – Threes: $225/month
• Kindergarten Readiness: $240/month

It’s been a wonderful and busy week here at preschool! Spring is officially here, and we are soaking up every bit of it. ☀️🌸

We’ve been outside exploring, building crosses as we begin to reflect on Easter and celebrate our risen Savior, searching for violet flowers to remind us of our color of the month and that we all belong to God’s family, and of course, basking in the warm sunshine together.

There’s just something special about this season—new life, fresh beginnings, and little hearts learning big truths. 💜

✨ Kinetic Sand & Spoon Donations Needed! ✨

Does your child have a tub of kinetic sand sitting around at home and no longer being used?

We have several classrooms that LOVE using it in their sensory centers, and we would be so grateful for any donations!

We are also in need of plastic spoons for our classrooms—we seem to go through them three times faster than forks!

If you have any items you’d like to pass along, we would happily take them off your hands and put them to great use.

Happy Birthday, Ms. Alexis! 🎉

Alexis works alongside Mrs. Maegan Woodie and Mrs. Maegan Warren in our Baby and Toddler classrooms. This is her first official year on staff, but she has faithfully volunteered with us for the past several years.

Ms. Alexis has such a quiet, sweet spirit that the children naturally flock to her. She brings a sense of calm to the classroom that you don’t even realize you need until she’s gone.

She loves the Lord and seeks His will in all things. What a true blessing she has been to all of us this year at Elkin FUMC Preschool—we are so thankful for everything she does!

Happy PRESCHOOL Teacher Appreciation Day!

Today we celebrate the heart and soul of Elkin FUMC Preschool—our incredible teachers.

To say you are appreciated doesn’t feel like enough… because you are truly invaluable and irreplaceable. The love you give, the patience you show, the guidance you provide, and the way you reflect Christ in both the big and the small moments does not go unnoticed.

You are more than teachers—you are encouragers, nurturers, prayer warriors, and steady hands for our children and families. You show up each day with servant hearts, supporting one another and pouring into every child God places in your classroom.

Each of you lives out Colossians 3:23 every single day— “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord and not for people, knowing that it is from the Lord that you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.” Every day you serve not just in a classroom, but for the Lord.

The love, patience, and faith you pour into our students is shaping hearts for eternity, and we are so incredibly grateful.

On this first day of spring, we are reminded of growth, hope, and new life—all things you cultivate daily in our preschool. The seeds you plant will continue to grow far beyond these classroom walls.

We love you, we appreciate you, and we thank God for each and every one of you.

Today, Dr. Kaury kicked off our Easter Chapel lessons by helping the children understand that the “good things” we find in our Easter eggs can remind us of the greatest good of all—everything Jesus did for us while He was here on earth.

He reminded us that John 3:16-17 tells us; that God loves us—that He sent His Son Jesus, to earth to take on our sins so that we could live forever with Him in heaven. God loves us so, so much, and If we believe in Jesus, we can be with God forever.
Jesus didn’t come to punish us—He came to save us because He loves us!

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.
For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.”

We celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at preschool today, and what fun we had! ☘️

When we arrived this morning, we discovered that the leprechaun had made a HUGE mess at the preschool—but he also left us some treasure to find! So off we went on a hunt for the leprechaun’s pot of gold… 🌈✨

What a fun and exciting day full of laughter, surprises, and a little bit of mischief!

Spring Break is over, and we’re excited to welcome our students back to school! We have missed you so much and hope everyone had a restful and fun break.

Unfortunately, the weather does not look great for this evening and tomorrow. Please be sure to check GroupMe and Facebook for any updates regarding the weather.

We follow Elkin City Schools’ closing policies. If Elkin City Schools closes after our school day has already begun, we will close immediately. Teachers will remain at the school for 30 minutes following the closure announcement to allow families time to travel and pick up their children.
