The film tells the story of Flyers goaltender Pelle Lindbergh, whose focus, determination, and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
As the Flyers’ team therapist in the 1980s, Dr. Steven Rosenberg worked closely with Pelle to strengthen his mental preparation through hypnosis and visualization, techniques that helped him perform at his best, on and off the ice. 🏒

🎥 The Swede of Philadelphia premieres today in select AMC Theaters (for a limited time) and on demand, celebrating the life and legacy of Flyers goaltender Pelle Lindbergh. 🏒
In 1985, Dr. Steven Rosenberg served as the Flyers’ team therapist, helping Pelle strengthen his focus and confidence through visualization and hypnosis. Their work together played a key role in Pelle’s remarkable rise, culminating in his Vezina Trophy win that same year. 🏆
That night, Pelle publicly thanked Dr. Rosenberg for his support, one of only two people he mentioned by name.
Following Pelle’s tragic passing later that year, Dr. Rosenberg shared his memories and insights in “The Man Who Got Inside Pelle’s Mind,” written by Ray Didinger for the Philadelphia Daily News.
