Osha Root Honey
A small-batch blend of Rocky Mountain Osha Root and local (to me) raw honey.
Osha—often called bear root—is a revered medicine of the Rockies. This powerful root grows high in the mountains and has long been used in herbal and Indigenous traditions to clear congestion, open the lungs, and thin stubborn mucus. Bears instinctively seek it out after hibernation, eating it and rubbing it into their fur to ward off infection and fungus.
This Osha is sustainably wild-harvested, offering a bright, resinous, herbal taste reminiscent of celery leaf and lovage.
Use this honey whenever you feel congested, heavy, or stuffed up.
Take a spoonful and breathe deeply—the warm Osha vapors open your airways, offering quick, comforting relief. Blended with local honey, it becomes a gentle, kid-friendly way to support the lungs and sinuses.
A little truly goes a long way.
And the root left in the jar can be re-steeped several times to make a simple, effective Osha tea.
