Here’s your gentle reminder, Elkins:
💜 Take a deep breath.

Challenge of the Week:
This week, we’re focusing on one of the simplest (and most powerful) ways to stay healthy: moving your body!

👉 Your challenge: Aim for 7,000–10,000 steps each day (or about 30 minutes of walking).

Why it matters:
•Regular movement lowers your risk of heart disease and diabetes
•Boosts mood and reduces stress
•Helps maintain energy and focus throughout the day

Every step counts, whether it’s a walk around the block, parking a little farther away, or dancing in your kitchen.

Wellness Wednesday 💧

Did you know your body is about 60% water? Staying hydrated isn’t just about quenching your thirst, it’s essential for your overall health.

The science says:
•Even 1–2% dehydration can cause fatigue, headaches, and decreased focus (National Academies of Sciences, 2019).
•Proper hydration helps regulate body temperature, cushions joints, and supports healthy digestion.
•Drinking enough water can even improve mood and energy levels throughout the day.

Quick Tip: Most adults need around 8 cups of fluids daily, however everyone is different and your hydration need depends on you! If you are more active or spending time outdoors you need more water!

At Elkins Complete Care, we believe small, consistent habits like staying hydrated are the foundation of good health. So grab that water bottle today, your body and brain will thank you!

Monday Myth Buster

Myth: Antibiotics work for everything (including colds and the flu.)
❌ Not true!

Fact: Antibiotics are powerful tools, but they’re designed to fight bacterial infections (like strep throat or urinary tract infections) not viruses (like the common cold, flu, or most coughs).

According to the CDC, at least 30% of antibiotic prescriptions are unnecessary. Overusing antibiotics can lead to antibiotic resistance, which makes it harder to treat infections when we really need them.

At Elkins Complete Care, we take your health seriously and that means using antibiotics carefully and correctly to keep them effective for the times they’re truly needed.

👉 Next time you’re under the weather, trust our team to help you find the right treatment, backed by science.
