🌟 Member Spotlight – GBMC!

Living with arthritis pain that hasn’t responded to medications, injections, or therapy can be discouraging — especially for older adults trying to stay active. At GBMC - Greater Baltimore Medical Center the Radiation Oncology team is offering new hope with low-dose radiation therapy, a non-invasive, painless option that reduces joint inflammation and can improve mobility. This evidence-based treatment typically involves six short sessions over two weeks, has minimal side effects, and may provide relief for 6–12 months, helping patients remain active and independent longer.

Whether you’re seeking alternatives to surgery or looking for ways to manage arthritis pain more effectively, GBMC is proud to expand care options and support quality of life in our community.

Celebrating the season together at MHA’s holiday party!

We were proud to recognize two milestone anniversaries: Jane Krienke, assistant vice president of government affairs and policy, and Joy Money, senior account executive with MHA Prime, who both celebrated 10 years with the Maryland Hospital Association.

We also celebrated the outstanding career of Mark Rulle, who will retire at the end of the year after 17 years of service with the Maryland Healthcare Education Institute.

Happy holidays from MHA!

MHA was proud to be part of the Maryland Association of Counties' Winter Conference.

MHA President and CEO Melony Griffith delivered opening remarks at the Diversity Caucus Reception, while MHA Vice President of Government Affairs & Policy Natasha Mehu represented Maryland hospitals on a panel, Navigating Trust and Collaboration: Counties Protecting Public Health Together, highlighting the essential partnership between counties, hospitals, and public health leaders.

ICYMI At MHA’s Healthy Hospitals. Healthy Communities. Ideas Summit last month, we partnered with the Maryland Association of Counties to bring together local elected officials, public health leaders, nonprofit partners, and others from across the state to talk about the challenges ahead and the importance of working together as we navigate them.

From federal policy changes to the AHEAD Model, the conversation reinforced that hospitals are essential to the health and economic strength of every community, and this work requires strong partnerships at every level.
