Not all processed foods are created equal. But, some are best left off your plate. 👀

Highly processed foods are often packed with added sugars, sodium, and artificial ingredients that can impact your long-term health. In fact, diets high in ultra-processed foods have been linked to conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and weight gain.

Knowing what to limit is the first step toward making healthier choices for you and your family. 💙

Regular checkups are an important part of helping kids grow up healthy.

Well-child visits allow healthcare providers to track your child’s growth and development, stay on top of recommended vaccines, and catch potential health concerns early. These visits are also a great time for parents to ask questions about nutrition, sleep, behavior, and milestones.

The good news? Preventive care like well-child visits and childhood immunizations are covered at 100% when you see an in-network provider with APWU Health Plan.

Give your child the healthiest start possible. Schedule their next checkup today.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, and at APWU Health Plan we’re committed to helping raise awareness about colorectal cancer, the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S. The good news is that early detection through routine screenings can save lives.

Did you know?
Colorectal cancer is often preventable with regular screenings, typically beginning at age 45 (or earlier for those at higher risk). Screenings can detect precancerous polyps so they can be removed before they develop into cancer.

This month, we encourage our members and their loved ones to take a proactive step for their health:
• Talk with your healthcare provider about your risk
• Schedule your colorectal cancer screening
• Encourage friends and family to do the same

Taking action today can make a lifesaving difference.
