There’s a familiar quote you might know of that comes from the poem The Road Not Taken written by Robert Frost in 1916.
The famous line is:
“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.”
Sounds simple
However, there’s a deeper meaning of the poem than people often think.
This is about
the choices we make,
how we deal with uncertainty,
and how we can reflect in a way we can adapt and grow into a stronger and more resilient person through mind and body.
The road less traveled can represent the path of conscious living.
Yoga (besides the asanas!) teaches that most people live on autopilot:
• reacting to stress
• chasing comfort
• avoiding discomfort
• following societal expectations
But yoga invites us/ challenges you onto a different path.
The yogic “road less traveled” is:
choosing awareness instead of reaction
choosing discipline instead of instant comfort
choosing growth through discomfort
choosing presence instead of distraction
We invite you to choosing at least one of these as you travel the road less traveled on.
Don’t forget where your roots are, don’t forget where you came from and who was with you.
When we start our practice we focus on the breath.
Breath in, hold, and exhale.
Now your ready to begin the path that is meant for your growth for you to thrive.
