Good example of getting something suspicious checked out!

In January 2026, actor Tim Allen revealed during a podcast that he was diagnosed with skin cancer on his nose.

According to Allen, someone at The Today Show alerted him about the lesion more than once. The actor recounted that during his next appointment with his dermatologist, he said “Hey, doc, would you take a look at this thing on my nose?”

Allen was diagnosed with skin cancer, and the lesion was surgically removed.

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common form of skin cancer.

BCC develops when abnormal cells grow in the skin’s basal cells, located in the outermost layer of skin. These cancers most often appear on sun-exposed areas like the face, ears, neck, scalp, shoulders and back.

The primary cause? UV radiation. Both intense, occasional sun exposure and long-term cumulative exposure can lead to BCC. In the U.S. alone, about 3.6 million cases are diagnosed each year.

While basal cell carcinoma is highly treatable when caught early, it should never be ignored. Left untreated, BCC can grow deeper and cause serious damage.

Skin cancer can happen to anyone, at any age, on any part of the body. And because skin cancers appear in many shapes and sizes, they can be challenging to identify.

While skin cancer pictures can be helpful in learning what skin cancer can look like, getting to know your own skin and understanding what to look for can help you detect cancer early when it’s easiest to cure.

Just a reminder - drink water the most!

“Don’t drink your calories.” Smoothies, juices, fancy coffees, and sports drinks can quietly add hundreds of calories without filling you up. Choose water, unsweetened tea, or black coffee—and save your calories for food that fuels your workouts and keeps you satisfied.
