Colorectal cancer is now the leading cause of cancer-related death in adults under the age of 50.

Even more concerning, cases in younger adults have been steadily rising — increasing by nearly 50% over the past few decades.

Many patients under 50 are diagnosed at more advanced stages, when treatment becomes more difficult — often because symptoms are overlooked or screening is delayed.

The most important message this month is simple:

Early detection saves lives.

Screening can identify colorectal cancer early — and in many cases, even prevent it before it starts.

If you are experiencing symptoms such as changes in bowel habits, abdominal pain, or bleeding, or if you are due for screening, we encourage you to speak with your provider.

Our Dentist, Dr. Levsey, is currently battling colorectal cancer. She has always taken incredible care of our patients and our team, and now it's our turn to stand with her.
