Huge thank you to The Collective for a wonderful event raising money for GIRL Talk. We’re lucky to have a business that truly cares about and invests in its community. These ladies are the very BEST!!! Not only do they support our community, but they also offer great clothing and locally made items, shopping here is a great way to support a local small business!!!

𝕋𝕙𝕖 ℂ𝕠𝕝𝕝𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖 𝔾𝕚𝕣𝕝𝕤 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙨. 🎯

Waking up this morning and feeling incredibly grateful for all the ladies [& 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘶𝘣𝘣𝘺𝘴 🤣] who attended last night's event & showed their support for such a meaningful cause. 🫶

I think it's safe to say that a wonderful time was had by all! The drinks were f l o w i n' [especially the espresso martinis🍸], the vibes were e l e c t r i c ⚡️, and the tox was 100000% t o x i n' from the moment the doors opened to the very last minute at 8:59pm. 💉🤣
.. 😋 and let's not forget the incredible spread of delicious treats & savory eats.

𝗠𝗢𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗟𝗬, we raised a sizeable amount for • 𝔾𝕚𝕣𝕝 𝕋𝕒𝕝𝕜 • to be able to gift a local Milford district teen girl for a scholarship! 🎓 Thank you to all in attendance who made this possible... and a very special 𝙏𝙃𝘼𝙉𝙆 𝙔𝙊𝙐 to Derek Sheets who made a V E R Y generous donation. His wife, Crystal, donated to the boutique as per usual 🤣 and Derek showed his love for the community by attending the event & making a donation from his own business. ♡ 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱.

All in all, we felt the love and we hope you did as well. 🥰 For everyone who asked... YES. WE WILL DO ANOTHER EVENT. Let us get some sleep and then we'll get back to the drawing board. 🤣🤣

Black History × Disability Pride

✨ Spotlight: Angel Theory

Today, we are proud to kick off our Black History Month campaign by celebrating Angel Theory.

Angel Theory is a Black Deaf actress and model. Angel lost her hearing as an adult due to a car accident. Horror fans may recognize Angel from her role as Kelly in the popular AMC series "The Walking Dead". While filming "The Walking Dead", Angel taught her cast mates American Sign Language (ASL).

Her visibility matters.

Representation matters.

When young people with disabilities see themselves on screen and in leadership spaces, it sends a powerful message:
You belong.
Your story matters.
Your future is wide open.

At the Delaware Developmental Disabilities Council, we believe Black history includes disability history — and today’s leaders are shaping what comes next.
