Elmview is looking to hire a full-time Employment Specialist/Job Developer to assist our participants with disabilities in locating, securing and maintaining paid community employment.
Essential Functions
Conduct intake and discovery process to assess a participant’s qualifications.
Develop and maintain service plan with measurable goals and outcomes for participants.
Develop and provide services to ensure participant receives assistance and instruction in resume writing, job search, interviewing techniques, expectations, complete job applications, etc.
Conduct job and task analysis
Assess potential challenges to successful employment placements for individual clients and identify means to overcome those challenges.
Research potential employment opportunities directed toward positions that are individualized to interests, skills and abilities of participant.
Facilitate application and interview process
Ensure that necessary documentation is completed in a timely manner.
Teach work skills and habits needed for job success.
Provide on the job training to clients in job tasks.
Identify any modifications and/or accommodations of equipment, schedule, or job task necessary to ensure client success in the job and institute those modifications/accommodations.
Ensure that safety orientation at the work site occurs as necessary/applicable.
Provide supports to overcome any other challenges that arise that might impact job success
Communicate effectively with employer and client about ongoing job support needs
Support client and employer to resolve conflicts as needed or requested.
Networking and establishing/maintaining relationships within the communities for the benefit of the participants.
Create mandatory daily service case notes.
Work flexible schedule as required, self-initiating to create a schedule that meets participants’ support needs.
Represent Elmview in a professional manner.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Valid Washington state driver’s license
Proof of insurability for driving
First Aid and CPR cards or training within 45 days of employment
Ability to meet I-9 requirements
Ability to work with vulnerable adults per applicable WAC or RCW
One year experience working with individuals with disabilities
Demonstrated knowledge of local community
Self-initiating and flexible
Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision
Able to interact with diverse populations on a regular basis
Ability to relate well with program participants
Wage: $19.17/hour Depending on Experience
Average hourly wage after bonuses, mileage reimbursement and phone stipend is $21-$24/hour.
