Operation Green Light for Veterans 💚🇺🇸

This week we’re joining others across the country in shining a green light to honor the men and women who have served our nation.

That small light is a simple way to say thank you. It’s a reminder to every Veteran that they are seen, valued, and supported.

We invite you to join us. Change one light at your home or business to green and help us show that Ellensburg and Cle Elum stand with our Veterans.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Kittitas County Coroner Nick Henderson.

Nick was not only a respected public servant, but also a valued friend of our funeral home and many in our community. It is our honor at Johnston & Williams Funeral Home to be entrusted with taking the lead on his care and funeral arrangements.

Although Johnston & Williams and Brookside Funeral Home may often be considered competitors, we are first and foremost colleagues in funeral service, united in our shared calling to care for others. Nick himself was a licensed funeral director earlier in his career, and he understood deeply the importance of this work and the compassion behind it. In that spirit, our two firms will be working side by side to ensure his life, service, and legacy are honored with the respect and dignity he deserves.

At this time, we ask that everyone please give Nick’s family space and privacy as they navigate these difficult first days. Service details, along with a link to Nick’s online guestbook, will be shared in the coming days once all arrangements have been finalized.
