Take a deep breath in, then let it out. Feel your shoulders drop & your jaw relax. Unclench your fists. Stay here for a moment. This is sukha.
Things have been incredibly high-energy lately on a global scale, and I think most of us are feeling the effects. It’s so easy to get caught up in the chaos of it all, where the tension builds so slowly you may not even feel it at first. And then out of nowhere, you crash… exhausted, overwhelmed, or burnt out.
Sukha is the remedy for the insanity of the world right now, but accessing it when you’re right there in the middle of it can feel impossible.
This month, we’ll explore poses that help to soothe & regulate your nervous system, calm your stress response, and access a deep, unshakeable sense of “it’s all going to be ok”.
Forward folds in general are amazing for calming the nervous system, but the hip-stretching aspect of widening the legs will help you to process and release both emotional & physical stress.
Last month, through tapas, we learned the importance of consistently showing up for ourselves with discipline and effort. This month, let’s apply that consistency to taking care of our physical and emotional wellbeing.
We were not made to live in this perpetual state of exhaustion, overwhelm, & fear, and none of us deserve to.
