Hi everyone,

Area 10 and RSVP would like to shine a light on the contributions of an older volunteer in your organization!

We are seeking nominations through November 10, 2025, for our next Volunteer Spotlight. We put their picture in the paper with a short blurb about their volunteer service and your organization!

Nominees should be at least 55 years of age, reside in Owen or Monroe county, Indiana, and be willing to be honored in this way and have their picture taken.

BIG shout out of THANKS to the great folks at SouthernCare for raising well over 1,000 pounds of food for our Mobile Food Pantry!!! Through community barrel collections, we're squeaking by with our regular pantry operations and holding out for our next Stuff-a-Bus food-raising event 11/15. Come enjoy a meal with your fellow Owen County seniors. October 16th from 4-6:30. Organized by the great folks at Purdue Extension-Owen County and your Area 10 Owen County staff! RSVP so we know how many to prepare for the main dish. Grab your friends and join the fun!

Join us at the first Bloomington Healthy Aging Expo - October 9th 10-2 at the NW YMCA. Area 10 staff will be there with snacks and activities. Come meet some great folks, get resources to keep you healthy, and have fun! Special thanks to the Bloomington Senior Advocates group for creating this great opportunity!

This is Falls Prevention Week. Anyone can fall; but, for individuals 65 and older, falls are the leading cause of nonfatal and fatal injuries. Join us in PREVENTING falls this week and every week!
Our community's two wonderful senior centers - Endwright Center and Endwright East Active Living Community Center - both offer regular evidence based balance classes free! They're accessible for anyone to join and proven to increase your balance, strength and flexibility, not to mention your confidence!
You don't need to register - just show up. At Endwright (west), classes are every Monday and Friday 10-11. At Endwright East, classes are every Thursday 11:15-12:15.
More opportunities are available, as well, at both locations. Join us for a yummy lunch, meet some great neighbors and have fun!

Thanks to ALL who came out and supported our annual Golf Scramble event yesterday. We had a great time together and all funds will be supporting our Endwright (senior) Centers and emergency needs for local seniors!
