As K&A has grown, so has our team, and with that growth comes a few thoughtful changes 🤍

Starting March 1, 2026, we’ll be transitioning to a more consistent pricing structure across our massage therapists. This helps make booking simpler for our clients, creates clarity within the studio, and supports fair compensation for the skill, care, and continued education our therapists bring into every session.

What will never change is how we treat you. Every massage at K&A is fully customized to your individual needs. Whether you’re coming in for headache relief, shoulder and back pain, chronic tension, or simply time to reset. No two bodies are the same, and no two sessions are either.

Thank you for trusting us with your care and for continuing to support our small business and the therapists who pour their hearts into this work. We’re deeply grateful for this community.

A little honesty about the weather this weekend 🤍

When the weather gets bad, our hearts go straight to one place:

Our people.

Every therapist here drives 30–45 minutes to show up for this work.
Real roads. Real weather. Real families waiting for them at home.
Not everyone has full coverage or health insurance.
Not everyone has a brand-new car built to handle snow and ice.

And… we live in the Midwest. 😅😂
Some days it’s winter. Some days it’s rain. Some days it’s all four seasons before lunch. We truly never know what’s coming, but we do know safety always comes first.

We’re not a franchise.
No one here is forced to “push through” unsafe conditions just to keep appointments on the books. We will never ask our therapists to risk their safety to prove dedication. Healing should never require someone to put themselves in harm’s way.

If weather forces us to pause, delay, or reschedule sessions, please know these decisions are made with care and respect for everyone involved. Our therapists don’t live close by, and we ask for patience and understanding when safety has to guide the call.

These choices are never made lightly only thoughtfully. Not because we don’t care, but because we care deeply about the hands that care for you.

🦠 Flu Season Reminder 🦠

We get it… when your body feels awful, a massage sounds like a good idea.
But if you have the flu, massage will not make you feel better if you’re sick.

If you’re experiencing:
• Fever or chills
• Body aches from illness
• Cough, sore throat, congestion
• Nausea or fatigue related to being sick

👉 Please stay home and reschedule.

Massage is meant to support recovery, not push an already stressed immune system or expose others. Coming in sick puts you, your therapist, and other clients at risk.

💙 We promise: resting, fluids, and time are what your body actually needs right now.

This is fascia.
And this is where long-term pain patterns live.

Fascia is a continuous connective tissue system that surrounds and supports muscles, joints, nerves, and organs. When it becomes dehydrated or restricted due to injury, repetitive strain, posture, or stress it can limit range of motion, alter biomechanics, and contribute to chronic pain.

Maddie specializes in Myofascial Massage and integrates diaphragmatic breathwork to support nervous system regulation during fascial release.

Clinically, this matters.

Breath influences intra-abdominal pressure, vagal tone, and tissue responsiveness. By cueing slow, controlled breathing while applying sustained, low-load pressure, Maddie helps reduce protective muscle guarding and allows the fascia to respond more effectively to manual release.

This approach is beneficial for:
• Chronic pain conditions
• Postural dysfunction
• Limited mobility and joint restriction
• Old injuries and compensatory movement patterns
• Stress-related tension affecting breathing and movement

Five years ago today, we didn’t just open K&A Massage Therapy, we walked away from the franchise world and built something better.

We left behind non-compete contracts, corporate rules, and a system that treated therapists like replaceable parts instead of skilled professionals.

We took what that world taught us… and did the opposite.

Opening during a pandemic was a risk.
Breaking free and betting on ourselves was the real move.

Five years later, we stand here with nine incredible therapists, each with over five years of experience, all choosing to work in a place built on respect, autonomy, and real care not quotas.

To our therapists: you are our work family the family we chose. Thank you for believing in this vision, for your integrity, and for showing up every day. It is an honor serving by your side.
