A functional health physician and chiropractor that helps you identify the root cause of your health issues, and provides you with solutions to feel better and heal faster. His first degree in Medical Technology taught him the ability to diagnose patients using laboratory testing and to understand the proper path to discover underlying illness. Once he added the holistic characteristics of chiropractic, the ability to stage the body in a way to heal itself became apparent. Dr. Thoma continued his education into the Chinese healing arts through acupuncture and herbal supplementation. Dr. Thoma’s desire to help individuals optimize the healing process, and help them discover wellness and a healthy lifestyle, motivated him to continue to learn more about functional nutrition. He received my Masters of Science in Nutrition and immediately put that knowledge to work for his patients. In continued commitment to patient care, he has also gained a certification in clinical hypnotism and began studying energetic healing. Dr. Thoma believes in the best interest of his patients, it is of upmost importance to utilize the full spectrum of care available to them. Starting September 9th, Dr. Bethany Allen will be joining us as she finishes her chiropractic schooling! Please make her feel welcome when you come in for your appointment! We are excited to have her!

We have an exciting addition to the clinic! Dr. Lawler will be welcoming student doctor Bethany Allen. Let's find out more about her!

"Hello! My name is Bethany Allen, and I am currently in my last couple months of Chiropractic school at Logan University. I am originally from Geneva, IL which is a northwest suburb of Chicago. I attended Iowa State for my undergraduate degree and studied Kinesiology while helping in a chiropractic office near school. I chose Chiropractic because I grew up with my father who is a D.O adjusting us. I have always loved science and medicine but I am more interested in Chiropractics as I don’t do too well around blood. I love to learn about nutrition and other ways to help prevent chronic conditions. I work in the Women's Health clinic at Logan learning how to take care of patients who are pregnant, wanting to become pregnant, postpartum, postmenopausal, dealing with all kinds of things I am happy to learn about and help with. I have taken multiple different kinds of technique courses and plan to take as many as I can before graduation. I practice using multiple techniques depending on my patient including Diversified, Activator, Logan Basic, Gonstead, Thompson, and different muscle work and Myofascial Release techniques.

My plans after graduating are still in the works as I would love to practice anywhere I am needed. I would love to be able to work with as many different kinds and ages of people as I can. I am happy right now to have learned how to care for women more in-depth while being in school, but I love learning about nutrition and how nutrition needs change while we age and go through different stages in life. In my free time I like to read and crochet as I don’t have much free time right now while in school, but I can’t wait to start working more instead of sitting in classrooms or doing homework. I am excited to learn and work with Dr. Lawler starting in September through April."

1 Hour at the Computer = More Neck Pain & Weak Hands! 💻

If you spend long hours at a computer, you may notice neck stiffness, headaches, or tingling in your hands. A study found that just 60 minutes of typing can increase neck pain, reduce grip strength, and even add nerve tension to the arms.

👉 Tip: Take micro-breaks as frequently as you can, stretch your neck and wrists, and keep your screen at eye level to reduce strain.
