Ellsworth County Medical Center Auxiliary

Ellsworth County Medical Center Auxiliary ECMC Auxiliary Mission: Enhancing ECMC healthcare through service and comfort.

The Ellsworth County Medical Center Auxiliary was founded over 50 years ago with a desire to provide support for their medical center and for their community. The Auxiliary is comprised of volunteers who assist ECMC in providing the best patient care possible. Auxiliary Annual Events:
Spring Event: Color Run
Fall Event: Heartland Harvest Wine Tasting

Projects: Caring Covers
The Ellsworth County Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary also stands as a pillar of compassion and support, diligently dedicating their efforts to enhance the well-being of inpatients through the heartfelt provision of comforting blankets. Their initiative, rooted in kindness and empathy, revolves around creating and distributing soft, cozy blankets to those undergoing medical care within the hospital's walls. With each blanket the auxiliary seeks to alleviate the challenges and anxieties patients face during their hospital stay. These blankets symbolize not only physical warmth but also the emotional comfort that emanates from a community's collective embrace. By extending this simple yet powerful gesture, the Ellsworth County Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary spreads comfort and hope, nurturing a sense of healing and reassurance within the hearts of the patients we serve.

Every Member Matters! Becoming a member and offering support to the Auxiliary is a significant contribution to the well-being of our community and to the efficiency of our healthcare services. The Hospital Auxiliary plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall patient experience by providing much-needed assistance and resources to the hospital. By joining this volunteer driven organization, you directly contribute to the betterment of healthcare facilities and services within our community. Members of the Auxiliary help in fundraising, organizing events, and facilitating various programs that directly benefit patients, their families, and the hospital staff. Whether it's purchasing medical equipment, or providing comfort to patients, your involvement can help ensure that the hospital can offer optimal care and improve the lives of those we serve. Additionally, being part of the Hospital Auxiliary allows individuals to connect with like-minded individuals, forge meaningful relationships, and experience the rewarding satisfaction of giving back to the community. Ultimately, your support and membership in a Hospital Auxiliary can make a lasting, positive impact on the healthcare landscape and the lives of many. Auxiliary officers are elected by the members during the December meeting and agree to serve two-year terms. Auxiliary memberships are open to anyone who wishes to contribute their time, talents, and/or resources to assist in promoting and bettering their local medical center (ECMC). Membership dues are just $10 annually or lifetime memberships are available (these dues are based on an age scale). Meetings are held monthly on the second Tuesday of each month, between October to May. Meetings are held at 10:00am in the ECMC Administrative Building Conference Room (building located directly behind the Hospital), 1706 Aylward Ave, Ellsworth KS. On behalf of the Hospital Auxiliary, thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Heartland Harvest event. Your support helps us raise funds to purchase essential medical equipment for Ellsworth County Medical Center (ECMC). Over the years, the Auxiliary has proudly contributed to the hospital’s mission by funding wheelchairs, EKG machines, the MolecuLight device used in wound care, and the construction of the new Women’s Imaging Suite.

This year’s Heartland Harvest was another wonderful success as we celebrated Dr. Ron Whitmer for nearly 50 years of dedicated service to our community. His family joined us in strong support, making the evening even more special. We were also thrilled to welcome Wyldewood Cellars, Mulvane and The Farm Brewery of Minneapolis, whose participation made the event even more memorable.

A heartfelt thank-you to the Ellsworth High School Family and Consumer Sciences Department and their talented students for once again providing exceptional catering. Your professionalism, creativity, and delicious food helped make the evening truly shine.

We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to all the volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make this event possible: Cindy, Nola, Carolynn, Kathy, Georgia, Shannon, Tara, Danette, Mary Ann, Lucinda, Liz, Kylene, Wes, Jake, Rick, Greg, and Mike ….and if anyone was unintentionally missed, please know that your time, effort, and support are deeply appreciated and did not go unnoticed. To those of you who stayed late and helped with clean-up…THANK YOU! Your time, energy, and teamwork are what make Heartland Harvest such a success.

A special thank you also goes to Rick Perkins for serving as our outstanding emcee and to Alan Dinkel for leading a lively and entertaining live auction. Finally, to all our sponsors, donors, and guests—your generosity and continued commitment make this event possible year after year. We couldn’t do it without you!
