One big example: Smart Acquisition EKG machines, which help our providers quickly capture and share heart rhythm data directly within the medical record.

💙 What a Day at ECMC! 💙

Last week, the ECMC Auxiliary hosted our Senior Wellness Event — and once again, it proved to be so much more than just another senior gathering.

From meaningful conversations to shared laughter over lunch, the room was filled with connection, learning, and community.

✔️ Guests gained clarity and confidence during an Advance Directive discussion led by Leah Womelsdorf
✔️ Learned how Home Health services can support independence and peace of mind
✔️ Got moving with a gentle Chair Exercise session
✔️ Explored how Legacy Giving can create lasting impact for family and community
✔️ And enjoyed delicious snacks and lunch together

But beyond the sessions and speakers, what truly stood out was the fellowship — neighbors visiting, caregivers connecting, and seniors empowering themselves with real information and real support.

The ECMC Auxiliary continues to make a difference in the care, comfort, and wellbeing of our community. We are so grateful for their heart, dedication, and commitment to serving Ellsworth County.

Every stitch represents the Auxiliary’s mission to support the care, comfort, and welfare of our patients and staff. Because healing isn’t just clinical—it’s personal.

💗 Neighbors Caring for Neighbors. 💗

Did you know our Hospital Auxiliary raised more than $330,000 to make our Mammography Suite a reality?

Because of their dedication and fundraising efforts, women in our community can receive life-saving breast cancer screenings right here at home.

A local mammography suite means:

✔️ Earlier detection
✔️ Faster results
✔️ Less travel to larger cities
✔️ Fewer missed workdays
✔️ More comfort in familiar surroundings
✔️ Support close to family and friends

In rural communities, access matters. When screening is convenient and local, women are far more likely to schedule it — and early detection truly saves lives.

This isn’t just advanced technology.
This is peace of mind.
This is mothers, daughters, sisters, coworkers, and friends.
This is over $330,000 invested back into the health of our own community.

The Auxiliary’s mission is "Enhancing ECMC healthcare through service and comfort" — and this project is a powerful example of that mission in action.

On behalf of the Hospital Auxiliary, thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Heartland Harvest event. Your support helps us raise funds to purchase essential medical equipment for Ellsworth County Medical Center (ECMC). Over the years, the Auxiliary has proudly contributed to the hospital’s mission by funding wheelchairs, EKG machines, the MolecuLight device used in wound care, and the construction of the new Women’s Imaging Suite.

This year’s Heartland Harvest was another wonderful success as we celebrated Dr. Ron Whitmer for nearly 50 years of dedicated service to our community. His family joined us in strong support, making the evening even more special. We were also thrilled to welcome Wyldewood Cellars, Mulvane and The Farm Brewery of Minneapolis, whose participation made the event even more memorable.

A heartfelt thank-you to the Ellsworth High School Family and Consumer Sciences Department and their talented students for once again providing exceptional catering. Your professionalism, creativity, and delicious food helped make the evening truly shine.

We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to all the volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make this event possible: Cindy, Nola, Carolynn, Kathy, Georgia, Shannon, Tara, Danette, Mary Ann, Lucinda, Liz, Kylene, Wes, Jake, Rick, Greg, and Mike ….and if anyone was unintentionally missed, please know that your time, effort, and support are deeply appreciated and did not go unnoticed.
