Did You Know?: More than 12 million seniors and older adults experience food insecurity. An estimated 7.4 million seniors (60 and older) and 5.2 million older adults (50-59) experience food insecurity as of 2023, with rates varying by state and major metropolitan area.

We have a fundraiser for Good Shepherd Food Bank running until the end of 2025. This is a part of Comfort Keepers Feed Seniors Now initiative to help seniors with limited resources and difficulty obtaining food to maintain good nutrition.

💛 Supporting Family Caregivers’ Mental Health During the Holidays

The holiday season is often filled with joy, but for many family caregivers, it can also bring stress, fatigue, and emotional overwhelm. Balancing traditions, gatherings, and responsibilities—while caring for an aging loved one—can make this time of year feel especially heavy.

At Comfort Keepers, we want to remind caregivers of something important: You deserve care, too.

✨ Tips for Protecting Your Mental Well-Being This Season

1. Give yourself permission to set boundaries.
It’s okay to simplify holiday plans or say “not this year” to activities that add more strain than joy.

2. Share responsibilities.
Whether it’s delegating holiday tasks or asking relatives to help with caregiving duties, you don’t have to carry everything alone.

3. Make space for small moments of peace.
Even 10–15 minutes of quiet time, deep breathing, or a short walk can lower stress and boost emotional balance.

4. Stay connected.
Caregiving can feel isolating. Reach out to friends, family, or support groups—sometimes a conversation is the best gift you can give yourself.

5. Consider professional support.
Home-care services can provide respite, companionship, and hands-on help, giving caregivers time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the season.

💛 You Are Not Alone
Our team is here to support both seniors and the families who love them. If you need a little extra help this holiday season, we’re only a call away.

November is Family Caregiver Month. More than 63 million Americans dedicate their time, energy, and compassion to caring for friends or family members living with disabilities or complex medical conditions. Among them are 59 million who care for adults. The care they provide is invaluable.

PBS created a documentary with the support of Comfort Keepers that showcases caregiving in America today. Checkout the preview here:
