Inspire Recovery Center - In Support of People in Recovery INSPIRE Community Recovery Center, located in Ellsworth, Maine, offers a safe, fun and comfortable place to connect with members of the community.

People can come in for a cup of coffee, in person recovery supports, and other activities and programs. INSPIRE Recovery Center is a project of Healthy Acadia. Healthy Acadia is a 501(C)(3) community health organization building vibrant communities and making it easier for all people to lead healthy lives throughout Washington and Hancock counties and across Maine. Learn more at healthyacadia.org. At Healthy Acadia, it is our priority to maintain our social media platforms as safe and respectful places for sharing and discussing topics related to public health. Today at INSPIRE, we honored Black Balloon Day by remembering the loved ones we have lost to overdose.

Community members wrote names and messages on black balloons and placed them on our memorial board — each one representing a life that mattered and a loss that is deeply felt.

While today holds grief, it also holds gratitude for the lives, memories, and love that remain. 💜

On this National Black Balloon Day, we honor the lives lost to overdose and hold space for the families and communities impacted. We stand together in love, remembrance, and hope.

Join us today from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. to participate in our memorial activity. Community members are invited to write the name of a loved one — or a message of remembrance — on a black balloon and place it on our memorial board.
