Today is World Mental Health Day!
Mental and emotional well being are *just* as important as physical health. I love that my job allows me to help you walk away from our time together feeling calm, safe, grounded, and at home in your body again.
Massage is so wonderful for this, but Reiki takes it to another level. :) If you haven’t been formally introduced yet, let me tell you all about it!
Reiki is an energetic healing practice that originated in Japan and is now widely used around the world. The simplest way to describe it to those already familiar with massage is that it’s like a “massage for the soul”.
During a Reiki session, the receiver will lay fully clothed on the massage table while the practitioner places their hands on or above the body to allow Reiki to flow. Your only job is to just be present, relax, and receive. It’s often described as a meditative experience.
Reiki is so helpful for general stress, anxiety, grief, trouble sleeping…the list goes on! The best thing I can tell you about how Reiki feels for me personally is that it always makes me feel like everything is okay- even if just for a few minutes. It’s like being wrapped in the warmest hug and knowing you’re absolutely safe and held.
