Veteran Dante Laudati was a very deliberate man; a proud Veteran and Past Commander of his American Legion Post.

He was also the loving at-home care provider for his wife. Dante knew he must see to her funeral arrangements, while still caring for her. While she was ill, they could discuss many important choices, and choosing the right place was a priority for Dante. He visited all the funeral homes in Elmhurst and nearby towns. It was his visit to Gibbons in Elmhurst, where Dante met Marya Gibbons where, in his own words he said, “It just clicked”. This was the place. “She was professional, kind, and helpful. She handled everything. All I had to do was show up.”

Dante also put his Military Honorable Discharge (DD-214 Certificate) on file with Gibbons so he could choose a time in the future to pre-plan for himself. As a proud veteran and American Legion Past Commander, he proudly displays his pins on his cap. Veterans have earned special honors for their sacrifice and service to our nation. Marya and Tucker Gibbons ensure that every Veteran is aware of, and receives all of those services and benefits. In Dante’s case, the services recorded and documented in a Pre-planning session ensures that all of those details will be taken care of. And they were.

Marya loved working with Dante, and listening to his stories about his wife, his family, and his proud service to the country. “He is such an amazing man. He offered us the important facts mixed in with beautiful memories and stories. He had an enormous proud feeling for his family and his service to our country. Couldn’t help but love the guy:” It clicked alright."
