Research shows the average adult spends 6–10 hours a day sitting.

During prolonged periods of sitting, this posture can place more pressure on the lower back than standing, while also keeping the hips and spine in positions they weren’t designed to hold for long periods.

When sitting becomes a daily habit for hours at a time, it can begin to influence how your muscles, joints, and posture function throughout the day.

Swipe to learn how prolonged sitting affects the body and a few simple habits that may help support your spine.

β€œIs chiropractic care safe for children?”

Dr. Frank shares that chiropractic care for children is typically very gentle and adapted to a child’s developing body. The techniques used for infants and kids are much lighter than those used for adults, with adjustments carefully modified for their size, age, and stage of development.

Children may receive care for concerns related to posture, minor injuries, growing pains, and general musculoskeletal stress as they stay active in sports and daily activities. Pediatric chiropractic care can also help support healthy spinal movement, balance in the nervous system, and proper body mechanics as children grow.

The focus is always on supporting healthy movement and development while using techniques that are safe and appropriate for a child’s growing body.

Your first chiropractic visit is about understanding your body.

At Olympia Chiropractic & Physical Therapy, the first appointment focuses on learning about you.

We look at your health history, lifestyle, posture, and movement patterns so we can understand what may be contributing to the way your body feels.

You also do not need to wait until pain becomes severe to come in. Many people begin care because they want to improve movement, prevent future injuries, or support their recovery alongside physical therapy.

Adjustments in our office are designed to be comfortable and precise. We use the ProAdjuster, which measures how each spinal segment moves and helps guide gentle corrections.

Care plans are individualized because every spine and every lifestyle is different.

And if you have questions at any point during your visit, we encourage you to ask. Education is a key part of helping patients make confident decisions about their health.

If you have been thinking about booking your first visit, learning what to expect can make the process feel much easier.
