holds a special place in my heart.

It isn't a secret that last year was a very difficult one for me. But Vanguard was the one place I wanted to be during that time. It's become more than a gym to me. It's the place where I find the most peace outside of my home.

This is more than a t-shirt and more than some consistent fitnessing that I can be proud of. It reminds me that I have a home amongst these people.

Thank you to all my Vanguardians especially and for welcoming me in.

This very simple warm-up is a beautifully effective way to get your body moving before you ever start striking a ball

All you need is a light band which I tend to keep in my golf bag anyway for exactly this kind of thing

Golfers with tight hips

This is the resisted 90/90.

This beautiful mobility drill works on your internal and external rotation. We need both to work through a full swing comfortably.

If you're someone like me who struggles with internal rotation (back leg), you can sit on a small block or ab mat to slightly elevate your hips. If you struggle with external rotation (front leg) you can elevate the knee of the front leg

You can do it with no band or you can use a band to load the hips. Here in using the band to load my external rotators.

Do this for 1 minute on each side 3 times and you'll be ready to roll.

These three exercises are great to improve rotation of your hips so you can swing a little more freely as well as take some stress off your low back!

Upper back mobility is incredibly important in the golf swing, specifically for those dealing with low back pain. The low back is not designed to take all of the twisting force. That's where the hips and upper back come in.

You don't gain yardage by hitting thousands of balls on the range. If you want to add serious distance to your club, that happens in the gym with heavy compound lifts.
