Dr. Maria Downey hails from upstate New York and is a proud alumna of Binghamton University and The State University of New York College of Optometry. She completed her residency in Ocular Disease and Co-Management at OMNI Eye Specialists in Baltimore, Maryland.
In 1999, Dr. Downey and her husband relocated to Pennsylvania, eventually settling in western Chester County, where they have resided since 2006. With extensive experience in clinical practice and ocular disease management, Dr. Downey returned to private practice following her faculty appointment at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. She has a particular focus on diabetic eye care and anterior segment disease.
Dr. Downey is an active member of the Berks Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and the Pennsylvania Optometric Association
