Hoofprints to Hope exists to help children and families find hope and healing through hands-on experience with horses in a safe Christian environment. Horses are amazing teachers, as well as outstanding listeners. They teach us how to communicate with others, resolve conflict, face our fears (“For God did not give us a spirit of fearfulness, but a spirit of power, love and self-discipline” 2 Timothy 1:7), trust others and ourselves, and increase our self-confidence. They teach us how to have compassion and patience with others. They feel the pain and trauma that we have endured in our lives. Horses do not lie; they are a mirror into our souls. Horses accept us for exactly who we are, no questions asked. Christy Falink is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been trained and certified through EAGALA, the leading international nonprofit association for professionals using equine therapy to address mental health needs. Christy has over 20 years of experience working with children and families in mental health and addiction treatment centers, schools, churches, and equine-facilitated therapy programs. Christy has owned, cared for and competed on horses her entire life. She combines her love and passion for horses with her vast experience as a mental health professional to reach out to others who are hurting by showing them God’s love through the gentle touch of a horse.
