A little time can mean the world. 🌎

April is Volunteer Month, and we are celebrating the amazing people of all ages who share their time with our residents. From calling bingo to painting nails 💅, performing music 🎵 to simply sitting and chatting, our volunteers bring an essential joy and connection to our community.

We are grateful for our Continuum of Care partnership with Life Care Center of Elyria, conveniently located on the same campus. 😊🙌 Their therapy department provides a monthly presentation that's available to our residents and community members. This month, Julie and Heather designed two circuit training maps with guided instructions — one for indoor exercise and one for outdoor use. Circuit training helps build strength, improve balance, and increase endurance all of which contribute to a better quality of life. 🩵

👨 For Men's Club, independent living resident Larry Maiers was an announcer for motocross racing. He and his lifelong friend Jack Penton, who was a career motocross racer and the son of John Penton, who created motocross motorcycles, came to talk about their experience in motocross.

They also showed off one of Jack's bikes and talked about John Penton‘s legacy. 🏍️
