The Pumpkin Contest results are in! This year had the best pumpkins and the closest competition!

This November we are participating in the Burpee challenge in honor of Veteran’s Day. The goal is to complete 830 burpees between November 1st through November 30th to raise awareness of wounded veterans. The number 830 represents the 83% of warriors served by Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) who live with PTSD.

Feel free to modify burpees as you are able. Complete all 830 burpees at once or split them up each day. Challenge yourself as you see fit. Let us know how you do. Goodluck!

It's that time of year of cleaning up yards in preparation for winter. Here's a quick refresher of lifting mechanics to avoid injury. Enjoy the cooler weather.

When picking up an object:

1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart
2. Stay close to the object
3. Bend knees vs at waist
4. Lift with legs vs back

When walking with an object:

1. Keep object close to body
2. Avoid extending (arching) back
3. Activate abdominal muscles
4. DO NOT twist your body; turn your feet
and take steps as needed.

When setting an object down:

1. Hip hinge OR bend knees and squat down
2. Keep abdominal muscle activated
3. Keep object close until placed on solid surface
